Today we woke up to snow! Not much of it, and it took a while to pile up enough to justify venturing out into the cold, but eventually we got out there and enjoyed it.
It's not his first time seeing snow, but last year he was too little to do anything more than look at it (or nap on it). This year he's old enough to react, and react he did- starting out with delight at seeing it falling all around him. He was somewhat less delighted to discover how cold it was after holding a snowball for a few seconds, and then spent the rest of the morning going back and forth between laughing and crying. He hasn't made up his mind about snow yet.
He kept whining to go, so we'd start walking home and then I'd turn around and he'd be wandering back into the snow. So we'd play for a few minutes and then he'd start whining or crying again, and we'd start walking back, and the whole thing would repeat. He just couldn't make up his mind about the whole thing, which makes him a lot like his mom.
My favourite part of the morning was seeing his footprints in the snow, one of his cutests "firsts" ever.

Nice! Good for Shuma. I hope he can decide what he likes before the next snowfall.

What a cutie purple snowman he is!
Hi Amy,
I love reading your blog, and thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures.
I'm a Japanese in Canada:D
I'm living in the warmest city in Canada. You know where it is, right?
We had snow this week as well, and it made our life harder here(seriously), kids love playing snow though.

Shuma is the cutest baby ever! I love his hat. We are currently getting our first snow (since the freak snowstorm over Halloween) and I can't make up my mind whether I am happy about it or not either...
